Search and Rescue 07-22-17

This Saturday morning the Chili Fire Explorers drilled on search and rescue skills in the Chili Fire training tower.  First set of evolutions involved teams going in and searching multiple floors for victims and removing them.  Concepts covered were left- and right-hand searches, patient packaging and moving, and communication.  The second set of evolutions, the explorers were presented with a problem to solve.  Explorers were on the second floor with a victim, but the stairwells were no longer viable and a ladder was not to the window but the victim had to be removed immediately and all they had was rescue rope (training rope really) and hand tools.  The purpose was to have the explorer teams think fast and solve a problem with minimal time and rely on skills previously learned involving ropes and knots.  Click on the photo below for more pictures from today's training or go to our Photo Gallery page for more pictures.
