SCBA Breathe Down Drill 02-04-17

The Chili Fire Explorers designed an SCBA Breathe Down drill to do this cold Saturday morning.  The Explorers worked in teams of two and started off doing a short hose dummy drag, then went up to the 2nd floor of the training tower to do a quick right-hand search of the entire floor, then proceeded to the third floor to do a physical exercise (either push-ups or squats), finally they would go back outside to do 5x5 swings with a sledge hammer on a truck tire.  The Explorers would repeat this circuit until they depleted the air in their SCBA.  Some of the Explorers, and recruit firefighter that joined them, decided to do the drill twice because they enjoyed it so much.  Click on the picture below for more from today's training or go to our Photo Gallery page.  Also check out our video showing our Explorer Captain and another Explorer completing one circuit.
