This Saturday the Chili Fire Explorers performed another task oriented air consumption test and reviewed SCBA maintenance and how to exchange SCBA bottles rapidly.  The explorers started out with the air consumption test by going up and down the three floors of the Chili training tower, strike a commercial size tire with an 8-lb. sledge hammer 10 times, carrying a small hose pack up and down the outer stairwell for another three floors, dragging a hose dummy between two cones that were about 25' apart, going through a quick portion of the maze, and finally performing forced entry.  After going through the various stages, the explorers learned about SCBA maintenance so that the SCOTT 5.5 packs could be returned to service and how to switch out bottles while the packs were still being worn.  Click on the photo below for more pictures from today's training or go to our Photo Gallery page for more pictures.
