Hydrants and District Familiarity 08-06-16

After their usual 2 minute warm-up drill, the Chili Fire Explorers were out and about in the district today learning how to use the box book system and practicing making hydrants.  The focus of the drill was not about providing water to the engine (no hydrants were opened to flow water) but on learning to read the box books to identify hydrant locations, and timing themselves in making complete hydrant hook-ups.  Some of the other topics covered were the importance of truck placement for using the front suction and the difference between laying-in and laying-out.  Click on the photo for more pictures from the drill.
